The Brooklyn Nets dominated the Charlotte Hornets on the road to earn their second straight victory led by Joe Johnson.

It was a hot start for Brooklyn as shots kept falling for them in the first quarter. By the 6:08 mark of the quarter, they were already up, 17-6. The early lead was in major part due to Joe Johnson's early offense. He came out scoring 11 points in the first frame. In the final minutes of the quarter, the Nets went up by as many as 15 points after recent college graduate Jarrett Jack converted on a driving shot as time expired. Brooklyn was sparkling at the time, shooting 59 percent from the floor while being 5-of-6 from the three-point arc. Charlotte would then begin to reduce the lead in the second quarter and cut it to eight but weren't able to go on top.

After the first 24 minutes of the game, Brooklyn found themselves up, 52-42. At halftime they were shooting 56 percent from the field. Deron Williams had eight points with five assists. Although Mason Plumlee didn’t have a large scoring output after two quarters, he did have seven boards. Alan Anderson was focused, as he provided eight bench points for the Nets. No player for the Hornets was in double figures, and their high scoring man was Lance Stephenson with nine points.

The hot offensive performance for the Nets would continue in the third quarter, as they kept on building their lead. By the 5:57 mark of the quarter, Brooklyn went on a 10-0 run that put them up by 20. Just like Jack made a buzzer beater in the first quarter, Anderson had one of his own, nailing a shot from three. They ended up outscoring the Hornets, 33-17, in the third period and went up by as much as 26.

The lead would be too much for Charlotte to overcome and in the final 12 minutes of the game, it would continue to be all Brooklyn. There were seven Net players that scored in double figures while three of them came off the bench. Johnson would end up being the game's highest scorer with 22 points. Williams achieved a double-double with 18 points and 10 assists. Rookie Cory Jefferson got the first start of his career while Kevin Garnett got the night off. Jefferson scored 11 points on 5-of-5 shooting. Anderson was the highest bench scorer for the Nets with 17 points while being 6-of-7 from the three-point line.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was the top scorer for the Hornets with 15 points. Not only did the Nets shoot extremely well in this game, but they also did a great job sharing the ball. The team concluded with a season-high of 29 assists. This was a very important win for Brooklyn, as they will now face a challenging schedule with matchups against the Heat, Raptors, and Cavaliers.

The game against Miami will be on December 16th. For the Hornets, their next matchup will be against the Cleveland Cavaliers on December 15th.
