The Houston Rockets have acquired Minnesota Timberwolves’ swingman Corey Brewer, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

The Timberwolves had been looking for suitable trades for Brewer all season long, and the Rockets had been one team with serious interest in the veteran forward. Aside from the Rockets, the Cleveland Cavaliers also had interest in Brewer.

As part of the deal, Troy Daniels will go to Minnesota along with two future second round picks, while the Timberwolves also send Ronny Turiaf along with Brewer. Turiaf is out for the entire season with a hip injury and according to Wojnarowski, he could still be moved to a third team.

Troy Daniels will offer three-point shooting for Minnesota if given minutes. The 23-year old averaged just 2.7 points in 17 games this season on 30.2 percent shooting from three for Houston.

Meanwhile, after the Rockets missed out on Rajon Rondo, they turned their attention to Corey Brewer to shore up their bench. Brewer is known for his quick hands on defense and his ability to leak out early on fast breaks on offense.

The one-time champion averaged 10.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.3 steals in 24 games and 16 starts for the Timberwolves. Brewer figures to play a permanent bench role for the Rockets.
