On Tuesday afternoon, it was reported that the Los Angeles Clippers were to sign forward Darius Miller to a 10-day contract to add wing depth, but they have changed their mind since.

Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports is now reporting that the Clippers will sign veteran Dahntay Jones to a 10-day contract instead.

Jones last played for the Dallas Mavericks during the 2012-2013 NBA season, averaging 3.5 points. The journeyman has played for six different teams in his career, which includes the Memphis Grizzlies, Denver Nuggets, Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers, Atlanta Hawks, and the aforementioned Mavericks.

Jones will add some defensive prowess and physicality off the Clippers bench if given the minutes. However, he is not expected to hang around with the team too long, as the Clippers are still looking to strike a deal with Boston to bring in Doc Rivers’ son, Austin.

The Clippers will potentially use the final spot on their roster to test out a handful of costless agents before sticking with a permanent fix.

Nate Robinson will likely be another player on their radar if he is bought out by the Boston Celtics.
