Both the Golden State Warriors and Chicago Bulls were without key players, Andrew Bogut and Jimmy Butler respectively, due to illness. The Warriors came into the game 27-2 this season with Bogut and just 9-4 without him. While for the Bulls, Butler has arguably been the team's most valuable player and a potential candidate for the NBA's most improved player award, as he is averaging 20.1 points, six rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.

Klay Thompson began the night on fire, reminiscent of his 52-point night against the Sacramento Kings just two games ago. He dropped in his first six shots of which three were three-pointers and had 15 points in the first six minutes of the game. He missed his next two "heat-check" shots and was subbed out at the 4:33 mark in the first to get a breather, returning to play the full second quarter.

The game was very tight in the first three quarters as neither team was able to build a lead greater than six points. At the beginning of the fourth quarter though, it seemed as if the Warriors had gained momentum and control of the game, but the Bulls would not be pushovers.

Gaining a 93-83 lead at the 7:43 mark in the fourth quarter, the Warriors looked poised for the win but had underestimated the Bulls will to win. The Bulls quickly stormed back to cut their deficit to three points at the 6:09 mark in the fourth and made the game tight the rest of the way.

The Bulls, down 104-105, forced a Stephen Curry turnover and got a huge three-point basket from Kirk Hinrich to take a two-point lead with 12 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Andre Iguodala shot a three for the lead that rimmed out and was tipped in by Draymond Green with 1.9 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Derrick Rose missed a long three at the end of regulation and the game headed to overtime.

Both teams played hard-fought, rugged basketball as neither team was able to build a lead greater than two points in overtime. With the game tied at 111, Derrick Rose hit a 20-foot jump shot to give the Bulls a two-point lead with eight seconds remaining. Rose showed courage taking that shot, as he was shooting just 12 of 32 prior to that shot. Andre Iguodala got the ball again but was fouled prior to a shot with 3.4 seconds remaining, giving the Warriors another chance to run a play. They ran a play for Klay Thompson, as he caught the ball at the top of the key, made a move to get open for a clear look at a floating shot in the lane and unfortunately rimmed out the shot.

Stephen Curry's turnover at the end of the fourth quarter that led to Kirk Hinrich's three-point shot was a huge, but not the only reason the Bulls were able to come back to win. In the second half and overtime, the usually sharpshooting Warriors just couldn't find the range and shot 0 for 13 from the three-point line.

Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 30 points (13-27 fg, 4-10 3pt) and added 10 rebounds. Stephen Curry put up a stat line of 21 points (9-23 fg, 2-9 3pt), four rebounds, nine assists, and three steals. David Lee had his best game of the season off the bench with 24 points (10-17 fg), nine rebounds and six assists.

Derrick Rose had one of the strangest stat lines for a point guard, as he put up 30 points on 13-of-33 shooting, grabbed seven rebounds, committed 11 turnovers, and only dished out one assist. Without Bogut in there for the Warriors to guard the paint, both Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah were able to have monstrous games. Gasol put up 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, 16 rebounds, eight assists, and four blocks. Noah put up 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, 15 rebounds, six assists, and two steals.

The Golden State Warriors' franchise-high 19-game home winning streak came to an end tonight with a 113-111 loss to the Chicago Bulls.

The Golden State Warriors will look to get back on track on Friday when they take on the Utah Jazz. The Chicago Bulls will look to build on their impressive win on Thursday when they take on the Los Angeles Lakers.
