Many San Antonio Spurs victories come down to fundamentals, and this game wasn't very different. The number that jumps out from this game is turnovers - 17 for the Kings, five for the Spurs.

San Antonio squeezed the orange and made sure to limit Sacramento's fast-break chances, which is one of the strengths of this young and energetic team. The Spurs also defended the three-point line very tightly, giving up only four attempts from beyond the arc.

Ben McLemore was the only one to make any of those shots, as he finished with 21 points and four assists. His running mate in the backcourt, young point guard Ray McCallum, had 20 points of his own. Newly acquired Andre Miller added 10 points and three helpers off the bench, but it wasn't enough against a focused Spurs team. San Antonio was trying to avoid losing their fifth straight game, as they hold on to a top seven spot in the Western Conference.

Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker led the way, as the former had 17 points and two blocks and the latter finished with 19 points and four assists. It was a balanced game overall, as no player scored 20 or more points, but no core player scored below six.

Manu Ginobili was hot off the bench with 16 points, as him and starting two guard Danny Green were the only players in this game to sink multiple three-point attempts.

The Spurs took over in the fourth quarter and locked down on defense, as they held the Kings to just 18 points in the final frame. Parker led the way with 11 points and found Boris Diaw on a deep three-ball with seven minutes left in the game. That shot put the Spurs up 89-84, but a Ginobili three-pointer just two minutes later would be the dagger, as the Spurs went on to win, 107-96. They improved to 35-23, while Sacramento fell to 20-36 with the loss at home.

The Kings were without the services of starting point guard Darren Collison and starting center DeMarcus Cousins. Collison is likely lost for the season after undergoing hip surgery, while Cousins sat out of this one with multiple injuries.

The Spurs have a quick turnaround tomorrow, February 28th, as they play host to the Phoenix Suns. It would be interesting to see if Gregg Popovich limits his starters since it will be the second of a back to back.

Meanwhile, the Kings will be back in action Sunday evening against the Portland Trail Blazers at the Sleep Train Arena.
