Sometimes, the San Antonio Spurs just go on a roll. After a decimating performance where the Spurs completely dominated the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday (130-91), the Spurs were ready again at the AT&T Center to play some excellent basketball as the regular season inches closer toward it's end. The Spurs only have 10 regular season games remaining now that they ripped apart another likely Western Conference playoff foe in the Dallas Mavericks. Winning from start to finish by a final score of 94-76.

There are so many people to guard on the Spurs, that very few people probably would have picked Boris Diaw to be the VAVEL USA player of the game in this contest. He led the team in points with 19, shooting 8-11 from the floor, including two buckets late in the first quarter to make it 28-18 instead of 23-18. He was also, 3-4 from behind the three point arc, which put him just one behind the Dallas Mavericks as a whole as they were 4-18 behind the arc. While Dallas does typically shoot well from 3, Monta Ellis and Devin Harris were the worst offenders as they were both 0-3 from three.

Dallas tried to attempt a comeback in the third period to make it a game, and they were as close as 5 points when one of the newest Mavericks, Amar'e Stoudemire, hit a layup to put them down 66-61 with just over a minute left in the third period.

But the Spurs would go on a run right away, scoring the next ten points behind a Danny Green three, Boris Diaw three, and two short jumpers by Tiago Splitter and Danny Green again. That stretched the lead back to 15 with just 9 minutes left and Dallas was out of comeback attempts.

The San Antonio Spurs (46-26) are currently in the sixth spot in the Western Conference and on Sunday they will host the Southwest Division leading Memphis Grizzlies (50-23), who are currently in second place, despite only being separated by 3.5 games.

Meanwhile the Dallas Mavericks (45-28) are in the seventh spot in the Western Conference and will travel to Indianapolis to take on the Indiana Pacers (31-41), who are just one game behind Boston for the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs, on Sunday.
