Both the Mavericks and Pacers came into this game with playoff aspirations and needing a win to bolster their playoff position. The Pacers won on their home court, 104-99, getting within a half game of the eighth seed in the East.

C.J. Miles led the team with 28 points while Chandler Parsons led the Mavericks with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Indiana shot 50 percent in the game and 10 of 17 from three-point range.

Dirk Nowitzki hit a three to open the game, but Indiana controlled most of the first quarter, gaining their first lead at 9-7 with just under 10 minutes to go and holding that lead for almost seven minutes, until Parsons completed a three-point play to put Dallas back up, 23-22. Eventually Indiana would lead after one, 33-27.

The second quarter was all Dallas as they put up 34 points in the frame to take a lead going into half. They limited Indiana to just 22 points in the second as they went to half with a 61-55 lead.

Indiana cut into the lead in the third quarter, outscoring the Mavericks by five in the frame to go into the fourth trailing only by one at 79-78.

The fourth quarter seesawed back and forth, and while tied at 89 late, George Hill hit back to back threes to put Indiana up by six. From there, Indiana never trailed again as they finished off the five-point win.

Indiana travels to Brooklyn next for a crucial showdown with the Nets on Tuesday night, while Dallas will travel to Oklahoma City on Wednesday night.
