Fresh off winning the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award on Monday morning, Lou Williams is set to commit his future to the Toronto Raptors.

Williams revealed his desire to sign a contract extension and remain in Toronto to Sam Amick of USA Today.

The 28-year-old landed in Toronto a year ago via a trade with the Atlanta Hawks. In his first season with the Raptors, Williams has produced a career high 15.5 points per game in 80 appearances off the bench.

“I'm very confident that this is where I'm going to be for a number of years in the future,” the guard stated.

“So hopefully it works out there. I'm a creature of habit, a product of my environment. And once I'm somewhere I like to be comfortable there. And this team, this city and this organization has embraced me as one of their own and I look forward to being here.”

Williams has become an integral part of a strong Toronto bench that is slowly establishing it’s name around the league with the likes of Greivis Vasquez and Patrick Patterson.

Williams signed a three-year deal worth $15.7 million in 2012 with the Hawks, and should expect an extension from the Raptors with the numbers he has posted.
