Kentucky head coach John Calipari has seen his name pop up for NBA coaching vacancies more than any other coach on the market the past couple of years. With his unmatched success of putting together teams filled with high school All-Americans and forming them to play as a team, NBA owners are anxious to see if he can do the same at the highest level.

Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reported earlier today that the Sacramento Kings were interested in making Calipari their head coach while also having front office privileges. The recent breakout feud between head coach George Karl and franchise player DeMarcus Cousins has the Kings looking for viable trade options or a new coach so they can keep Cousins in Sacramento. It all began when Karl made it known he wanted to trade Cousins to try to move up in the draft. That wish was swiftly declined by Kings' owner Vivek Ranadive and also created tension that Karl would ask such a thing with how dominant of a player Cousins is.

There have been endless rumors about what the Kings plan to do about the situation. Talks with the Los Angeles Lakers are still alive about working out a trade that would benefit both teams, but now it seems like the Kings may have moved their focus on getting rid of Karl instead.
