Draft Night: Most people consider the NBA Draft as the un-official start of the offseason. Draft night didn't do much as far as changing the Pelicans roster. With their only pick (56th overall) the Pelicans selected Michigan State forward Brandon Dawson, but quickly shipped him to the Clippers for cash considerations.

Eric Gordon: After some question of whether or not Gordon would opt-out or not, Eric Gordon decided to opt-in for the final year of his contract with the Pelicans. With the resigning of Gordon, most expect to see the same starting lineup as last year, but now in a new system under head coach Alvin Gentry. Eric Gordon took to Twitter after opting in stating, "I'm looking forward to working with Alvin Gentry and building a winner here in NOLA!!!."

Summer League: Although there is yet to be an official roster to be released here are some players that will reportedley play on the Pelicans summer league team

Seth Curry - 6'2" - PG - Duke

Will Sheehey - 6'7" - SF - Indiana

He Tianju - 6'9" - SF - China (Offer extended)

Jay Hook - 6'4" - SG - Tulane

Bryce Dejean-Jones - 6'6" - SG - Iowa State

Drew Gordon - 6'9" -PF - New Mexico

Free Agency: With the constant talk of sources and rumors surronding free agents, the Pelicans have only been attached to a few names entering free agency so far.

Yahoo's Marc Spears reported that the Pelicans are one of four team interested in forward Quincy Acy. The other teams included the Kings, Nuggets, and Magic.

RealGM stated that the Pelicans are interested in center Robin Lopez, who has played his last two seasons in Portland. Lopez played in New Orleans in their last season as the Hornets.

Overall Outlook: The overall outlook in New Orleans is a very positive one. Since drafting Anthony Davis in 2012, the Pelicans have improved their roster and level of ply every season, including the above mentioned playoff appearence they made this season. Now with new coach Alvin Gentry taking the reins, it should be a very exiting time for Pelicans fans as well as the organization in general.
