After agreeing to re-sign Kawhi Leonard to a five-year, $90 million maximum deal late last night, the San Antonio Spurs have agreed to sign Danny Green to a four-year, $45 million deal, reports Chris Broussard of ESPN.

The Spurs have secured their wing positions by retaining their two defensive aces. What does this mean for their pursuit of LaMarcus Aldridge?

With the Spurs handing out large deals to Green and Leonard, they may have to execute a sign-and-trade for Aldridge, most likely involving Tiago Splitter and his annual $8 million contract, if they are still interested in bringing in the 29-year-old power forward.

Danny Green was garnering interest from multiple teams, including the New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings, and Detroit Pistons. In fact, the Pistons put in a call to Green and met with him, but the 28-year old out of North Carolina remained loyal to the Spurs.

"I'm very excited to be back," Green said. "Especially because it looks like we might be getting some other pieces. We have a good future."

Green averaged a career-high 11.7 points and 4.2 rebounds this past season. However, he struggled during the playoffs, as his team was eliminated in the first round after winning a championship the year before. Green’s poor playoff performance did not hurt his stock in free agency, though.

As mentioned above, many teams were in pursuit of the swingman and could have possibly offered Green more money.

Now the question that remains for San Antonio is whether Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili will return for one more season and if they will still actively pursue LaMarcus Aldridge.
