The Lakers failed to intrigued free agent LaMarcus Aldridge to come play with Kobe Bryant and company. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports! it is the time for the San Antonio Spurs to "close on him" due to the failed attempt of a "strong impression" for the Laker to the convince the big man to join them. Aldridge seems like he wants to win now and doesn't want to be part of the rebuilding process that the Lakers have to do this upcoming season. After Aldridge averaged 23.4 PPG and 10.2 REB, the Texas native seems like he has a win-now attitude. The Lakers are not that team to make a playoff push and even though Kobe Bryant is at the final year of his contract and possibly his final year in the NBA, free agents have shown in the last couple of years that they don't want to play with Kobe.

One thing is certain: if Aldridge joins the Spurs he will learn from big man Tim Duncan, learn the game under legendary Spurs coach Greg Popovich. Although this team is getting older with Duncan, Parker and Ginobili whom most likely come back for one more year, this team always has the formula to make a deep run in the playoffs. Another thing to keep in mind is that Danny Green and Kawhi Leonard have signed big money contracts to return to the Spurs. Green for a 4 year $45 million contract and Leonard for a 5 year $90 million contract. With Popovich at the helm of the team, they would be poised to make a deep playoff run.

If Aldridge signs with the Spurs he could be in good teams for years to come. He will most likely take over Tim Duncan's role after he retires. If he wants to win now this is the place to sign.
