MEMPHIS, TN -- Marc Gasol isn't going anywhere. Grizzlies fans may now relax.

The Spanish 7-footer (and one inch) has agreed with the Memphis Grizzlies on a new deal worth $110 million over the course of a five-year span. Gasol is one of the leagues most coveted centers, and will not decide to go on a full free agency tour just yet.

Gasol did say he would only meet with Memphis representatives, so his chances of joining another team were very slim, however a contract fallout could have put Gasol on the full free agent frenzy market.

With the Grizz in 2014-2015, Gasol put up 17.4 points per game along with 7.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists (and yes, he is still a center), and 1.6 blocks per contest. Memphis earned the fifth seed for the NBA's Western Conference Playoffs, and the Grizzlies were able to advance past the Portland Trail Blazers in round one, but lost to the eventual champions in the Golden State Warriors.

Gasol drew lots of attention before deciding to return to Memphis and the grit-n'-grind style of basketball. This max deal of $108 million is probably close to the most that Marc would have received from any other teams' offers.

Now a 7-year veteran, Gasol is a well-renowned finesse big man who can get physical but specializes in polished post moves and passing from the paint. He and his brother Pau are considered some of the best big man passers in the league, this in part due to their Spanish background.

Marc is also a crucial piece to the Spanish National Team, and he has helped lead Spain to two straight second-place finishes in the Olympics.

The all-around skill and discipline shown by Gasol on the court is what makes him such an attractive options at the 5. A center who can score, defend, distribute, and crash the boards is something that does not come around very often, and something that the NBA cherishes and currently lacks. Shooting efficiently amid all of this, garnering a clip of 49.4% from the field in 2014-2015.

Now that the Grizz have Gasol locked up for the next and maybe last five years of the Spaniard's career, they need to make another flashy move to slide into higher standing for an NBA Finals run.

Terms are not officially finalized yet, but an official announcement is expected later on Thursday.
