Huge news has come out as Marc Stein reports that Robin Lopez will sign with the Knicks, as long as DeAndre Jordan doesn't sign there.

It makes clear sense why Lopez only goes there if Jordan doesn't. Lopez wants to be the big man for the Knicks, having Lopez and Jordan would likely require pay cuts as well as less playing time.

This is HUGE for the Knicks as Lopez is a quality center defensively. He isn't a huge weapon offensively but the Knicks need people. Any way they can get players of quality value to play for them should be considered a success. They now have a power forward in Porzingis, and a center in Lopez locked up. Now comes the hard part and finding others.

Knicks fans can rejoice for a minute. They may not get the big names, but really at this point they need improvement at all levels. Two quality big men aren't a bad fit with Melo.

The interesting part of this is that it was also talked about the Lakers interested in Lopez. If Jordan actually did sign with the Knicks, the Lakers might possibly be the front-runner for Lopez. Lopez would for sure get how much he wants from the Lakers, and would be a solid spot for him as well.

DeAndre Jordan seems like he won't be a Knick next season. It's likely down to just Clippers or Mavericks, and he'll probably be back with the Clippers when it's all said and done. Once Jordan realizes that he won't get 10 points a game from lobs from Chris Paul, he'll be back. Plus, Griffin passing the ball is incredible. The Clippers situation couldn't be better and although Wojnarowski reports that it's a 50-50 choice for Jordan, this writer thinks it's going to be the Clippers.
