The Portland Trail Blazers have announced their 2015 Summer League roster. The roster includes several expected players, like new addition Noah Vonleh and rookie Pat Connaughton. Their summer league play could dictate the floor time they see during the regular season. After four of the five Blazer starters from last season left, a lot of openings have been created in the depth chart. The summer league is a perfect time for Blazers management to see who has a chance of filling these holes.

Along with Vonleh and Connaughton, D-League MVP Tim Frazier and third year wing Allen Crabbe will make up part of the Blazers backcourt. Keith Bogans, an 11-year veteran, will surprisingly join them. He’s entering his 12th season now, while the rest of the Blazers summer league roster has only played a combined 17 seasons in the NBA.

Fourth-year power forward/center Meyers Leonard is also on the roster despite finishing the 2014-15 season with an increased role in Portland’s offense. LaMarcus Aldridge’s exit has vacated the power forward position, leaving Leonard and Ed Davis to battle over it. Leonard’s play during Portland’s three preliminary games and five tournament games could earn him the starting spot alongside Mason Plumlee, who is not on the Summer League roster.

The rest of the team is made up of non-Blazers affiliates. Some out of college like guard Kenny Cherry, and others from outside nations and teams like Marko Keselj from Serbia. They open their schedule against the Boston Celtics on July 11th, followed by the Dallas Mavericks on the 12th, and finish with the San Antonio Spurs on the 14th. All three games will be played at COX Pavilion at the University of Nevada Las Vegas campus. The rest of the schedule is to be determined due to the summer league playoff tournament, involving a minimum of five games.
