Zoran Dragic is headed away from brother Goran, as the Miami Heat are sending the 26 year-old Slovenian to the Boston Celtics in exchange for a protected second-round pick.

In addition to Dragic, the Celtics will receive a 2nd round pick from the Heat.

This is another move by the Heat to shed even more salary. The two 2nd round picks they acquired from the Orlando Magic and now Boston are heavily protected and there is a good chance the Heat will never use those picks.

Zoran did not play much as his brother Goran and won't not be making the same salary either. After making lots of moves and taking up a good chunk of salary cap space, the Heat are making these moves to cut some costs.

Miami has been able to shed Dragic's $1.7 million and Napier's $1.3 million owed salaries in the last two days in an attempt to get back under the luxury tax. Moving Shabazz Napier was a questionable move, as the Heat gave up quite a lot to draft him, but acquiring Dragic didn't cost as much. Dragic was involved in the deal with his brother in the deal that sent them both to the Heat from the Phoenix Suns

For Boston, this is a really cheap move to get more point guard depth. Dragic will now be the backup to the likes of Marcus Smart and Isaiah Thomas. Zoran will likely have to fight to get some playing time with rookie Terry Rozier now in the mix.

This is another good move by the Celtics' front office, as this deal adds depth and a 2nd round pick for the cost of a heavily protected 2nd round pick. They have also acquired the likes of David Lee, Perry Jones, and Amir Johnson

Boston's ceiling right now is a 6-8th seed in an Eastern Conference that is getting much better. While the Toronto Raptors may control the Atlantic Division, the Celtics could jump the Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks in the division to get a playoff spot. The Celts played well last year, but ran into a good Cleveland Cavaliers team in the playoffs and were swept.

Moving for Dragic for cheap gives Boston more depth and gives them another pick that they could move in the future.
