NEW YORK-- Carmelo Anthony and Co. extend their preseason record to 3-0, as they defeated the Philadelphia 76ers, 94-88. Derrick Williams led the team with 22 points off the bench, while Carmelo Anthony scored 18. Jerian Grant, who the Knicks acquired in a trade for Tim Hardaway Jr., led the team in assists with six.

In addition to crafty, no-look passes to Kyle O'Quinn and Williams, Grant displayed some hops in tonight’s highlight of the game. Following a steal from Cleanthony Early, as the Sixers began to close in on the Knicks lead in the final minutes, Early dished it out to Grant who finished the play with a vicious dunk, breaking any Philly momentum and maintaining a Knicks lead. Grant finished with seven points and three rebounds as well.

The explosive performance by Williams, which included a beautiful double-clutch reverse dunk, follows a 23-point performance in 21 minutes against the Washington Wizards this past Friday. He continues to draw comparisons to ex-Knick J.R. Smith, as he provides a similar spark of offense coming off the bench and looks as though he may be that second scoring option the Knicks need behind Anthony. On his chemistry with Williams, Grant said he feels confident that when he passes to Williams he will almost always finish the play, which the guard-forward combo definitely demonstrated tonight.

While the Sixers were without Jahlil Okafor (sore knee) and Nerlens Noel (knee and back injury), Isaiah Canaan led the team with 18 points and Christian Wood recorded 13 points and 10 rebounds, but turnovers and a lack of aggression coming out of the gates led to a Sixers loss.

Despite 39 three-point field goals, the Sixers only made eight, luckily for the Knicks who took 16 and made five. Slight concern was raised about the lack of a three-point threat on this Knicks squad, but timely hooping by Langston Galloway toward the end of the game dispelled that fear for the time being. Galloway had a nice game all-around, displaying relentless effort on both sides of the ball, finishing with 11 points and six rebounds.

Providing some early offense for the Knicks was Robin Lopez, with 10 points in 19 minutes.

The Knicks were without several players tonight as well, including Arron Afflalo (sore left hamstring), Kevin Seraphin (sore right knee), and rookie Kristaps Porzingis (strained left quad), who assured reporters it was a very mild strain.

Fisher said, "He strained his left quad similar to the quad injury he had in the summer in predraft, but just not as severe. We're not nearly as concerned as we were at that time." The Knicks hope to have Porzingis back on the court in a few days.

The Knicks look to remain undefeated in preseason this Friday as they move on to face the Boston Celtics at 7:30 PM Eastern Time.
