The Los Angeles Lakers picked up their first home win of the season with a 97-85 victory over the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons will get a shot at revenge against the Lakers on December 6.

The Lakers (2-8) were led by small forward Kobe Bryant, who played 36 minutes in the victory. Bryant finished 6-for-19 from the field to help accumulate 17 points. The veteran logged nine assists and eight rebounds.

Bryant's three-pointer to give the Lakers a 85-74 lead with 3:44 left in the game swung the momentum to Los Angeles. The Pistons were never able to find a big shot to spark a much needed run.

Along with Bryant was Jordan Clarkson, who scored 17 points. Meanwhile, Nick Young added 13 points and two rebounds off the bench in the victory.

As for the Pistons (5-5), Andre Drummond filled the stat sheet with 17 points, 17 rebounds, three assists and a steal against the Lakers. The center logged his 10th straight double-double to start the season. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 10 points while Reggie Jackson chipped in nine points, four rebounds and three assists.

The story of the night for Detroit was not Drummond, Caldwell-Pope or Jackson, it was backup point guard Spencer Dinwiddie. The 22-year-old had an outstanding game with 17 points, two rebounds and four assists over 24 minutes of playing time.

Making his home debut was Larry Nance Jr., who scored six points in his first five minutes of action for the Lakers. Detroit rookie Stanley Johnson scored four points in 16 minutes, but was held to the bench due to five fouls.

Detroit has finished their six-game West Coast trip, but struggled losing four straight games. The Pistons have also lost their last 12-of-13 meetings against the Lakers. In need of a win, Detroit will head back to the Palace of Auburn for their next matchup.

On Tuesday, the Pistons will host the Cleveland Cavaliers, led by Lebron James, at 7:30 PM ET. The Lakers travel to play the Phoenix Suns on Monday at 9:00 PM ET.
