The Toronto Raptors reigned victorious yet again, to extend their win streak to seven games for the first time in 14 years. With DeMar DeRozan's superstar like performance, the Raptors were able to run away with this one early, overcoming the Miami Heat 101-81 for the second time this season.

Right from the jump, the Raptors took advantage of this injury riddled Heat team and never looked back. DeRozan's stellar 22-point first half was exactly what the doctor ordered, giving the Raptors a 16-point lead heading into intermission.

Of course, even with a short-handed nine-man rotation, the Heat tried everything in their playbooks. Trailing by double-digits for most of the night, the Heat were able to cut the Raptors lead within nine with less than four minutes to play in the final quarter. Patrick Patterson would respond, putting the nail in the coffin with a corner three that would put the lead back up to double-digits.

As the game winded down, rookie Delon Wright checked into the game and hit a jump shot that would reward the crowd free pizza. Wright will be looked to as an inspiration from this day forward.

In other news, Toronto shot a blistering 52 percent from beyond the arc while also holding the Heat to just 23.5 percent. DeRozan connected on a season-high four three-pointers, while scoring a game-high 33 points on the night. DeRozan has scored over 30+ points eight times this season while also scoring 30+ in three straight contests for the second time in his career.

It would simply be a crime if DeRozan wasn't named as a reserve for the All-Star Game on January 28th. #DeMarDeAllStar (tweet this)

Quietly for the last three games, Terrence Ross has been (to quote DJ Khaled), the key to success. Ross is averaging 13 points on 85.2 percent from the field and 83 percent from deep. Maybe Ross has finally found stability or could it be another early April Fools prank. Let's wait and see which one it really is.

Coming into this matchup, the Heat were without Hassan Whiteside who was sidelined with a strained left hip, Goran Dragic who continues to miss time with a left strained calf, and Beno Udrih who is dealing with a neck strain. Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh were forced to take matters into their own hands as they combined for 48 points.

The Heat haven't done much winning in the month of January. They are currently on a four-game losing streak, while also coming up empty in seven out of their last eight games. Their next three games consist of matchups against the Chicago BullsBrooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks, as they look to end their drought.

Nearly everything has been rainbows and unicorns for the Raptors in the month of January, if you discount the first four days of the New Year.

As the Raptors continue their homestand, they'll host Chris Paul and the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, who will look to end the unspoken streak.
