It was a 45-point night from Klay Thompson as the Golden State Warriors beat the Dallas Mavericks, 127-107. This is Golden State's fifth straight win, all of them where they scored at least 120 points. Four of the five wins have been by at least 20 points, and three of them by at least 30 points. Oh, and all five teams had records above .500, including the San Antonio Spurs and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Mavs Kept it Close in the First Half

The last time these two teams played it was a blowout loss for the Warriors in Dallas without Stephen Curry. In the first half it seemed like the same game as Curry failed to make an impact through the first 24 minutes of the game. The MVP had just three points in the first half but was picked up by the other "Splash Brother" in Klay Thompson. Thompson had 26 points in the first half as he shot 8-of-13 from the field and hit four three's.

It was a very solid start to the Warriors as they jumped out to a 20-9 lead on the Mavs, who were without Dirk Nowitzki who was given rest after hitting the game-winner against the Los Angeles Lakers last night. Without the star power forward, Dallas struggled in the first quarter as Golden State held a 32-22 lead at the end of one.

But the Mavericks began to pick it up in the second quarter as Chandler Parsons helped Dallas back in the game. Parsons had 12 points in the first half and helped Dallas get to within two points of the Warriors with around five minutes left in the first half.

With Curry and Draymond Green struggling, Thompson began to take over for the Warriors down the stretch. Thompson ended up scoring the last 14 points for the Warriors as Golden State took a 56-48 lead into the half.

Warriors Pull Away in the Second Half

The Mavericks started out hot at the start of the third quarter as Deron Williams scored eight points in the first seven minutes. Behind William's blitz, Dallas was able to get within one point of the Warriors with around seven minutes left. But two quick three's by the Warriors quickly gave the momentum back to the home team. The Warriors ended up going on a run and walked into the fourth quarter with a 95-77 lead.

In the fourth quarter, the Dallas and Golden State reserves were out on the court as the game was in double digits. The Mavs made a couple of runs but with Klay Thompson on the court leading the reserves, Golden State was able to keep Dallas at a distance.

In the end it was a comfortable 20-point win for the Dubs as they won 127-107 to notch their 40th consecutive home win.

Top Performers

Klay Thompson led all scorers with 45 points and five rebounds, hitting seven shots from deep. Stephen Curry struggled as he finished with 14 points on 4-of-11 shooting, but he added nine assists and three steals to his stat line.

Chandler Parsons led the way for Dallas with a 23 point and seven rebound performance. Deron Williams and Raymond Felton added 12 points apiece, while J.J. Barea came off the bench with 14 points.
