The Indiana Pacers were able to bounce back tonight in Brooklyn and beat the Nets, 114-100. For the third game in a row the Indiana Pacers were without starting center Ian Mahinmi, who was out with a sore lower back. Jordan Hill went on to start for Mahinmi at center.

Pacers Get Valuable Contributions

The Pacers would go on to have plenty of other players contribute and help push them to the win. The biggest out of any of the players that stepped up tonight, was clearly C.J. Miles. He has been in a long shooting slump as of late, but that looked to have ended Wednesday night. Miles finished with 27 points, on 10 of 15 shooting. Miles had 15 of those 27 points in the 2nd quarter itself. He wasn’t the only Pacers player to have a good night though. 4 other Pacers scored over 10 points on the night, which really helped take pressure off the big time scorers like Paul George and Monta Ellis. The other 4 Pacers players to score in double figures were Paul George, who  scored 17 points, Monta Ellis who scored 11 points, George Hill with 13 points, and Lavoy Allen who scored 12 points.

Nets Make Their Push, But It Wasn’t Enough

The Brooklyn Nets trailed by 19 at halftime, as they only ended up scoring 43 points in the first half. The Pacers really missed Ian Mahinmi tonight in this game. Brook Lopez had easy night in the paint, as he managed to score 21 points, which led the Nets in scoring on the night. Lopez has almost always been able to cause the Indiana Pacers some trouble. Brook Lopez had some help in the second half, as Joe Johnson began to heat up from three point range in the 3rd quarter. When Johnson and Lopez heated up that was when Brooklyn gained some momentum to try to come back and make it a game. They cut that 19 point deficit down to 10 in the 3rd quarter, but once they got it there, they couldn’t make it any closer, and for the rest of the 3rd and 4th quarter the Pacers lead bounced back and forth between 10-20 points. Part of the reason they couldn’t draw much closer than 10 points is because Pacers head coach put in C.J. Miles, who seemed to not be able to be stopped tonight no matter what. It also did not help the Nets to not have their point guard, Jarrett Jack, who scored 26 points last time the Pacers and Nets played back in December.

Energetic Offense And Defense

The Indiana Pacers bench tonight was exceptional throughout the game. Solomon Hill, C.J. Miles, Joe Young, Glenn Robinson III, and Lavoy Allen all made impacts of the bench offensive and defensively all night long. When the starters were tired, they stepped up big time and helped contribute, which helped lead to the Pacers victory.
