With the likes of DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo, there is no doubt that the Sacramento Kings have a wealth of talent to work with.

However, is head coach George Karl the right person to manage this gifted group?

Following the Kings porous defensive performance in a 128-119 loss to the scuffling Brooklyn Nets on Friday night, the team's sixth defeat in their last seven games, Sacramento sits 3.5 games behind the Utah Jazz for eight place in the Western Conference, leaving the organization considering making a coaching change.

According to numerous sources, Karl's support within the organization is rapidly dwindling, and those around the franchise are calling for his dismissal.

After Sacramento's most recent defeat, a lackluster effort in which the Kings allowed the 13-38 Nets to shoot an astounding 56% from the field and 18-of-28 from three-point range, former Kings guard Bobby Jackson criticized Karl harshly on Sacramento's postgame report, pleading for Karl's exit if the team wishes to reach the postseason for the first time since 2006.

Garnering a postseason berth is within the realm of expectation for team owner Vivek Ranadive, who inked Karl to a four-year, $15 million during the All-Star break last winter after the abrupt firing of Tyrone Corbin, who went 7-21 with the squad in an interim role last season.

If Karl is unable to shape his team together as they continue a four-game road trip with contests against the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, and Cleveland Cavaliers heading into the All-Star break, his days will indeed be numbered with the franchise.

Should the 64-year old receive the boot in the coming weeks, expect assistant coach and former Sacramento forward Corliss Williamson to assume the role of interim head man.

Williamson would become the Kings' fourth head coach in the last two seasons.
