The Chicago Bulls might have more problems ahead of them than they would have liked. Their budding superstar Jimmy Butler had his strained left knee re-examined by the Bulls’ head team physician Brian Cole. It was announced that Butler is to sit out the next three to four weeks, which means the injury-prone Bulls are in a sticky situation moving forward.

Jimmy Butler Served the Bulls With An Injury

Butler injured his left knee last Wednesday in the victory over the Sacramento King, and aggravated the same knee by falling awkwardly that following Friday night against the Denver Nuggets. In that matchup, he had to leave the game in the 2nd quarter on a wheelchair. Butler flew back to Chicago that Saturday morning and waited to get re-examined the following Monday.

Butler Is Out Of Service

Due to his recent injury, Butler will not play at least 10-15 games and will not play in the NBA All Star Game this Sunday in Toronto. Butler was selected as a reserve to the Eastern Conference squad by the Eastern Conference head coaches. Butler’s replacement in the East reserve is his teammate Pau Gasol.

With one of their 3 leaders out of the picture for a few weeks, the load will be carried by Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol. Having nearly half the roster in perfect health and the bench not reaching its defensive potential, things are not looking so bright for the weary Bulls in the games ahead. Plus, with the trade deadline a little over a week away, the Bulls' Front Office should take into consideration finding another wing player who can play on both ends of the floor and can help Rose and Gasol. The next 7-9 games ahead for the Bulls will be tough, but with Nikola Mirotic getting closer to return, the only thing the team can do is to compete with what they have until everyone comes back healthy.
