OAKLAND, California -- After rolling over China by 49 points on Sunday, Team USA dominated the same team again on Tuesday at Oracle Arena in California. In the 107-57 victory, Kevin Durant scored the first 10 points of the game.

Durant splashed a three-point jumper just eight seconds into the contest.

Kyrie, being such a great guy he is, he told me before the tip that he was throwing it to me no matter what,” Durant said of the game’s first action after he had received a rousing standing ovation from the sellout crowd. “I knew I was going to pull the first shot since like yesterday. Luckily, it went in.”

The Untied States led 31-15 after one quarter and pushed their lead to 52-24 by halftime. Harrison Barnes, who was forced out of a role with the Golden State Warriors to allow room for Durant, scored seven points on 3-of-6 shooting.

China pulled down just 21 rebounds, while Team USA had 48, of which 19 were offensive rebounds.

The one thing we should be able to do better than everyone is play defense,” Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski insisted. “Other teams can score. A lot of them have real good 3-point shooters. And we do, too. But we should be a better defensive team than those other teams.”

Team USA finished strong to run away with a 107-57 victory.

Durant finished with 13 points. DeMarcus Cousins logged 21 points, 11 rebounds and one assists, while Carmelo Anthony cashed in for 20 points.

China was led by center Zhou Qi with 13 points, forward Zhou Peng with 11 points and guard Guo Ailun, who chipped in 11 points. Ailun dished out six assists in the loss.

They do a couple of things that are very good for us: They pressure the ball and they deny wing passes,” the legendary Duke coach observed. “I mean, our talent level was superior. But the fact that they play so hard against you, it makes you have a really good night.”

Durant loved stepping on the court of Oracle Arena, which is home of Golden State.

It was amazing. The atmosphere was great. The energy was great," Durant boasted. "The fans showed me major love. I appreciate that. It was good to get out there in front of them and play well."
