In a move that has shocked many in the college basketball world, Frank Haith has resigned from his post at Missouri to be the head coach at Tulsa.

Haith had been with Missouri for three years and will leave the Tigers with a 76-28 record. An NCAA bubble team this past season, the Tigers played in the NIT. According to several reports, the move was made based on the unhappiness of Tiger boosters who became disgruntled at Haith's lack of ability to win with talented players.

Gary Parrish of CBSSports.com is reporting that Haith was looking to leave Missouri perhaps before he was forced out.

Tulsa's coaching position has been vacant since Danny Manning left for Wake Forest a few weeks ago. The Golden Hurricane won the Conference USA Tournament championship and qualified for the NCAA Tournament where it lost to UCLA in the second round.

Haith brings with him the ability to win games. He has had success with both Missouri and at Miami before that. Haith will bring knowledge and credibility to Tulsa as it enters the American Athletic Conference next season. His presence will help mesh with strong coaching personalities already in the AAC, including Kevin Ollie of the national champion Connecticut Huskies, and Larry Brown of the up-and-coming SMU Mustangs.
