On August 5, The College of Charleston fired its head mens basketball coach Doug Wojcik for alleged verbal abuse of his players. On Tuesday, Wojcik’s attorneys announced they had reached a settlement with the school.

Last week, Charleston hired Clemson assistant coach Earl Grant to replace Wojcik, who still had three years remaining on his contract when he was let go by the school.

Wojcik will evidently take his settlement rather than pursue legal action against what he claims is a wrongful firing.

Charleston conducted an investigation into Wojcik's alleged verbal and physical abuse directed at several of his players. The school found no evidence of physical abuse, but did conclude that verbal abuse took place.

No terms about the settlement were released, and neither side is offering any further comments.
