The Oklahoma Sooners, ranked 18th in the country, were looking to prove they could win on the road in a tough enviroment against one of the best mid-majors over the past few years. Creighton is looking to prove that they can win without Doug McDermott, the fifth leading scorer in Division I history, who is now in the NBA.

The Blue Jays would come back from an 18 point deficit to upset coach Lon Kruger's squad, who is returning their top three scorers from 2013, a team that had 23 victories. Creighton ended up winning the game by the final score of 65-63.

The Sooners came out and looked strong in the first half. Led by Star Buddy Hield, the Sooners jumped out to a lead and did not look back in the first half. The Sooners shot 40.6 percent in the first half but hit five threes to help take a 35-24 lead into the locker room.

The Blue Jays struggled on the offensive end during the first half. They shot just 24 percent (6 of 25) in the first half.

As much as the Sooners were efficient in the first half, they the exact opposite in the second. Despite extending their 11 point to 18 with a 7-0 run to begin the second, Creighton would heat up and Oklahoma went ice cold from the field. Overall, Oklahoma only made nine field goals in the entire half out of 30 attempts. That is just 30 percent from the field in the final twenty minutes.

Things would begin to turn around quickly after Creighton's Toby Hegner hit a three pointer that would help start a surprising 24-4 run that would not only give the Blue Jays a two point lead, but send the crowd into a frenzy.

The go ahead points from Creighton came with under a minute left  in quite an usual way. Zach Hanson managed to snag a Devin Brooks' airbal and score to put Creighton up by two points. The Blue Jays never trailed again, and the crwond at the CenturtyLink Center was quick to storm the court.

Leading the way for Oklahoma was Hield, who is showing more and more how much of a star he is in college basketball. Hield led the Sooners in scoring with 21 points. Houston transer TaShawn Thomas helped out with 14 points, and Ryan Spangler added a double-double with 11 points and eleven rebounds.

Austin Chatman was the leading scorer for Creighton, Chatman scored 17 points on 4-of-12 shooting. Hegner and Isaiah Zierden, both contributors in Creighton's run, each added 11 points for the Blue Jays.

A big statistic in this game was bench points. The Sooners' bench could only muster eight points while Creighton's bench scored 19 points.

Oklahoma (1-1) showed that they have room to grow. The Sooners' next game will be against Northwestern State. The game will help Oklahoma work some things out before traveling to Los Angeles, California, to take on the UCLA Bruins.

Creighton (3-0) stays home to play the Eagles of North Carolina Central.
