The Ohio State Buckeyes snapped a three-game losing streak against ranked opponents on Sunday afternoon with an 82-70 win over the 23rd ranked Indiana Hoosiers at Value City Arena. Freshman guard D’Angelo Russell led the Buckeyes with 22 points and 10 assists while freshman forward Jae’Sean Tate added a career high 20 points in the win. Ohio State finished shooting 62.3% from the floor.

Russell and Tate were two of the four Buckeyes to score in double figures on the day. Shannon Scott added 10 points from the point guard position. Marc Loving scored 12 points in 32 minutes off the bench.

The win boosts Ohio State temporarily into fourth place in the Big Ten standings in a tie with their arch-rival Michigan at 5-3. They are just a half game behind Maryland and Indiana for second place in the conference and just 1.5 games behind Wisconsin for the Big Ten lead.

Indiana did not play a bad game by any means. They finished shooting 52.0% from the floor while making 12 shots from behind the arc. The only poor portion of the game from Indiana was committing 15 turnovers including eight from their starting forwards.

Junior guard Yogi Ferrell scored 26 points in the losing effort. It was the sixth game of the season in which Ferrell has scored 20 or more points.

Ohio State will have another chance to beat a ranked team on Thursday when the 13th ranked Maryland Terrapins come to Value City Arena. Indiana continues their short road trip with an in-state clash with the Purdue Boilermakers on Wednesday from West Lafayette.
