Nebraska and Michigan were both preseason top 25 basketball teams. They are very much teams that have not been able to do much, as they both have embarrassing losses on their record, which makes every game even more important. Nebraska's worst loss is to Incarnate Word, while Michigan has a rough loss on their record against N.J.I.T.

Nebraska started the game off with the lead when Shavon Shields hit a layup to start the scoring. Aubrey Dawkins responded with a three pointer for Michigan to take the lead. Benny Parker was able to hit a 3 for Nebraska a few possessions later to take a 5-3 lead, and it was the final lead that Nebraska would have in the whole game. Zak Irvin hit a 3 to give Michigan a lead before the first TV timeout, and they simply ruled the game from there.

When it came down to it, Sophomore Guard Zak Irvin was the key to the game for the Wolverines. He led the team in points with 14, led the team in rebounds with 12, and put them in the lead and kept them going so that they were able to stay ahead of the strong Nebraska defense.

Michigan was able to pull away early in the second half to extend the lead to double digits, and then they finished the game off with a final score of 58-44.
