The last time these two met it ended in a 71-63 Round of 32 win for the Wildcats back in 2011 just one year after the Mountaineers pulled off the huge upset of #1 seeded Kentucky in the Elite Eight. These two teams will add one more chapter to their post season endeavors as they meet in the Sweet Sixteen for the first time.

Many question whether West Virginia's press can handle Kentucky when they speed up the game like they did against Maryland. If the Mountaineers want to stay in contention, they'll have to find a new tempo that goes in their favor.

If there's one thing West Virginia has coming into this game it's confidence. Their players have made statements about the game and their emotions are beginning to take over.

"I salute them getting to 36-0...They're gonna be 36-1." West Virginia's Daxter Miles said.

Kentucky's junior star Willie Cauley-Stein obviously had some words on the statements made by Miles.

"Now I'm kinda juiced. This game is gonna be fun, they made it kinda personal. You're gonna wanna watch." Cauley-Stein said.

In the past some teams have talked about or even at this Kentucky team and none of those games have ended well for the teams talking. With this Kentucky team, it's better to wait until game day to show what you can do.

West Virginia is a pressing team, attacking the guards and force steals at a high level. With Kentucky having so many capable ball handlers and playmakers it will make the Mountaineers think of something else, or they could get ran out of the gym.

You'd have to think, if there's anyone that can defeat this Kentucky team it would be a Bob Huggins-coached squad. But then, think again, and it could be difficult to imagine this Kentucky team being booted in the Sweet Sixteen.

You're gonna want to watch.

Pat's Picks

Willie Cauley-Stein- Oh Cauley-Stein will be juiced alright. The defense of West Virginia will not be enough to hold back this angry 7-footer as we could witness some more highlight dunks from the junior.

Juwan Staten- This guard will be hard to control as Kentucky has no sizeable player that can guard him well. Tyler Ulis could be too short and the Harrison twins may be too tall. But Staten will be just right for this match up.
