Louisville was favored to win this game by 20 points. Damion Lee sat out with a bruised knee. Yesterday was a tough day for the program as a whole. How would this team step up and play against Boston College in the afternoon? That question was answered before tip-off even. The crowd was electric to cheer on their Cardinals and the young team delivered early. Louisville provided the first strike but BC threw a monstrous right jab in the beginning of the second half. But regardless, UofL was able to pull out a 30 point victory to cruise to 1st place in the ACC because UNC lost to ND.

First half

Louisville got off to a hot start with Onuaku and Johnson playing well early. They were making post passes to each other and looked locked in. Trey Lewis scored five of the first nine points. It was a blowout in the making already. UofL didn't even play that well, it's just Boston College played THAT bad. It got so bad that walk on Jay Henderson played two minutes early into the game. David Levitch even hit a long range bomb that lit the crowd into a frenzy. If the rims that Boston College was shooting at could talk, they would be screaming for mercy from their early performance.

Second half

The Eagles started it off with a bang. They got two early lay ups and played great defense. They scored 14 points in the first 4 minutes compared to scoring that complete total in the first half. But Onuaku and Johnson proved to be too much in the paint for them to handle. Then Snider and Adel hit a pair of three’s to open up the lead again. It got as close as 10 points but Louisville threw a punch back. The game was all but decided basically from that point on. Spalding even ended the game with a thunderous alley-oop dunk. But next they have to travel to Cameron Indoor Stadium to take on the Duke Blue Devils.

No Damion Lee, No Problem

It would be safe to assume that Louisville wouldn't be that good offensively with Lee not available. But it was more of a team effort to reach the 79 points. Three players scored in double figures with Lewis leading the way with 16 points. Every player that played, scored, excepted for two (Avare & Henderson). Onuaku also had another monstrous rebounding performance with 13 total. He threw up the honorary tip ball to begin the game as well. The crowd roared with emotion and all the BC players shook hands with him and Lewis in pregame.
