It has been a whirlwind five days for safety Josh Turner.

Last Friday, Turner was one of four players dismissed by Texas Longhorns head coach Charlie Strong. On Wednesday, it was reported that Turner has been reinstated to the team following a meeting between Turner and Strong. 247 Sports reported that Turner was close to finalizing his transfer, but a meeting on Tuesday saw the door open to him rejoining the team. Turner is expected to contribute significantly at safety in 2014.

The other three players dismissed by Charlie Strong were running back Joe Bergeron, running back Jalen Overstreet, and defensive back Chevoski Collins. None of those three players are expected to return to the team.

Bergeron will probably end up transferring to Division II West Texas A&M, according to sources. He has asked for a release from his scholarship, which will allow him to go to his desired school. If Bergeron does end up at West Texas A&M, he would be eligible to play immediately this season under NCAA rules.

Still, Texas may not be done with the discipline. Chip Brown of Horns Digest says that three more players could be suspended. Those three players are wide receiver Daje Johnson, offensive tackle Desmond Harrison, and fellow offensive tackle Kennedy Estelle.
