Kaelin Clay returned a punt and kickoff for a touchdown while Travis Wilson had a very efficient game at quarterback to lead the Utah Utes past the Idaho State Bengals, 56-14.

The scoring started when Bubba Poole ran for a 6 yard score to make it 7-0. Idaho State pulled even on their next drive by going 75 yards on 10 plays, which was capped off with a Justin Arias to Broc Malcom 3 yard touchdown pass.

Utah wasted no time getting another touchdown. Two minutes and 16 seconds later, Travis Wilson rushed for a 2 yard touchdown and Utah recaptured the lead for good at 14-7. Idaho State had a long drive down to the Utah 13, but a missed field goal by Zak Johnson left them without any points to show for it.

The second quarter would end with scoring plays from Devontae Booker running for a 38 yard touchdown, Kaelin Clay returning a punt 46 yards for a touchdown, and Travis Wilson throwing a 26 yard touchdown pass to Kenneth Scott. Utah took a commanding 35-7 lead into the break.

Utah would add another score on the opening drive of second half. Devontae Booker added his second touchdown run of the game, this one from 4 yards out. Idaho State and Justin Arias responded with a 6 yard touchdown pass to KW Williams to make the score 42-14.

On the ensuing kickoff, Kaelin Clay to the ball back to the house on a 100-yard return, his second of the game. Brandon Cox added a late 16 yard touchdown run to give Utah the final score line of 56-14.

Travis Wilson went 13 of 18 for 265 yards and 1 touchdown through the air. Wilson also added 12 yards and 1 touchdown rushing. Devontae Booker finished the game with 78 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns. Booker also had one catch for 61 yards. Dres Anderson caught 4 passes for 111 yards to lead the Utes.

Idaho State did have a couple of bright spots against Utah. First, Xavier Finney ran for 133 yards on 23 carries, which was good enough for a 5.8 yards-per-carry average. Justin Arias finished the game by completing 21 of his 40 passes for 158 yards and 2 touchdowns. Most importantly, Idaho State did not have a single turnover, though they did give up the two return touchdowns to Clay.

Idaho State will be coming back to Utah next Saturday, as they face Utah State on the road. Utah has a stern test against Fresno State next week. That game will also be at home, which will give them an advantage.
