Once again, the Southeastern Conference has proven to everyone why they are the top dogs in all of College Football, as they place five teams in the AP Top 10 poll. South Carolina Gamecocks sit right outside the Top 10 at number 14 in AP Top 15. After that win over a Georgia Bulldogs team, it is very deserving.

Tennessee had their chance to join the rest of the SEC team in the Top 25 polls but they could not pull off a upset over the number 4 ranked Oklahoma Sooners. The Sooners maintain that position in the polls.

AP Top 10

1. Florida State

2. Oregon

3. Alabama

4. Oklahoma

5. Auburn

6. Texas A&M

7. Baylor

8. LSU

9. Notre Dame

10. Ole Miss

Florida State had 40 first place votes, while Oregon had 17. Alabama, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M all finished off with one vote for the top seed. It seems pretty clear that the bottom teams from number three to number ten best chance to have a serious shot at taking the number one seed is if they win a huge game.

We saw the Virginia Tech Hokies struggle against a East Carolina team after one of their biggest wins in the past five years over then number 8 ranked Ohio State. ECU has proven to us as why they want to be in mix by upsetting VT and almost doing the same to South Carolina. The only thing that held ECU back from defeating South Carolina was two late interceptions.

How about two other ACC teams --- Virginia and Boston College? They both has very good wins to put on their resumes as UVa defeated number 21 Louisville Cardinals at home. They may have something to say about being left out of the AP Top 25. Remember, they came close to upsetting UCLA in the opening week.

Boston College earned a well fought victory over number 9 USC Trojans who fell eight spots in the polls to number 17. It was expected for USC to lose at some point in time, but they left their fans wondering how did they lose to Boston College? Truth is, just like ECU came to play against the Hokies, and just like UVa came to play against the Louisville Cardinals, you have to respect your opponent no matter what.

Boston College most certainly earned a shot to be ranked with that huge win, but if you are a BC fan, do not expect it anytime soon.
