Halftime Analysis: The game started very slow as both sides struggled on offfense but it quickly picked up as these two have been balling as it's a tied 24 all! Trickett is having his way with the Oklahoma secondary while Oklahoma's backfield has been beasting and feasting. That's surprising to a lot of people considering Oklahoma's leading rush Keith Ford is down with a ankle injury. Both sides will have keep up the pace to win this game and I believe the team who makes more mistakes will loose themselves the game. I think West Virginia cools down and Oklahoma pull ahead and win this game big in the second half.

7:10 PM EST: Tonight's game between the Mountaineers and the Sooners is the opening game for Big 12 play certainly something Big 12 fans will want to tune in for. Another note, West Virginia is wearing some sweet uniforms which include yellow helmets, navy blue jersey and pants. Oklahoma is debuting a "alternative" uniform which includes a red helmet with a white stripe down the center with a white jersey with red sleeves and red pants.

6:59 PM EST: A little note should know, this game is huge in shaping the College Football Playoff. West Virginia has already lost a game and have practically no shot at making the 4 team playoff, but Oklahoma is undeafted and ranked #4 in the nation so if West Virginia can upset Oklahoma  or even push them it will afffect the Sooners shot at making the playoff.

6:46 PM EST: Kickoff for Oklahoma - West Virginia is 45 minutes away, come back here for live updates and inline when the game begins, I'm your host Michael Pendergraft that will be bringing the game to you.

6:10 PM EST: Prediction Time: I believe this game will be a dogfight from opening kick, if Oklahoma can impose their will early and make defensive turnovers by pressuring Trickett and get their offense flowing early I believe OU will blow out West Virginia. If West Virginia can score early and build a 10-0ish lead and make clutch defensive stops I think West Virginia can pull it out. The odds makers have Oklahoma a 7.5 point favorite which I think is accurate. I believe Oklahoma will grind it out by a score of 37-28.

6:05 PM EST: What people around the game are saying, Oklahoma co-Offensive Coordinator on being without RB Keith Ford: "We are down one back that has performed really well for us. At the end off the day, we need to decide which guy is going to be the guy. Like today we had all of them and we will need all of them for the entire season. The other two guys (Ross and Perine) are going to step up as well as the guys who haven't." RB Alex Ross on increased workload: "It's going to be nice. We'll take care of it. [Ross and Perine are] both conditioned really well so we'll take on the load pretty well." RB Simaje Perine on RB rotation: "Going into the summer we kind off knew the rotation would be great and thats we were going to work great as a team because we're all young and we've been together since day one. The relationship has grown these past couple weeks and there is only more to come."

6:04 PM EST: Both sides are opening up Big 12 play today in this match-up, Oklahoma went a perfect 3-0 in non-conference play and went basically unscared as they rolled passed Louisiana Tech, Tulsa, and Tennessee. West Virginia is coming in at 2-1 in non-conference play, which includes a thrilling 33-23 loss to the #2 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. They rolled past Towson 54-0 in their home opener and escaped in a shootout with Maryland 40-37. These teams diffently have had some great history since West Virginia joined the Big 12 in 2012. In 2012, Oklahoma won a bizarre shootout 50-49 and in 2013 Oklahoma escaped with a 16-7 defense minded game. Don't look at the game as #4 - non-rank cause it's a bitter Big 12 rivalry and they are always dogfights. Expect a tough, gritty, and exciting game; if anybody can knock off the Sooners its West Virginia.

6:03 PM EST: Injury Report: Oklahoma, RB Keith Ford is out for 2-3 weeks with a ankle injury, DT Charles Walker is out for 2-3 weeks with a knee injury, and DE Matt Dimon is doubtful with a elbow injury. West Virginia, CB Daryl Worley suspended for violation of  team rules, LB Jared Barber is out with a knee injury, CB Brandon Napoleon is out for season due to surgery, and LB Wes Tonkery is probable with a leg injury. It certainly seems like both clubs have lots of piventol injuries to their teams, I'm sure that will affect the outcome of this game. Injury Report via SoonerSport.com

6:02 PM EST: Let's check out some of Oklahoma's factor's in this match-up first of all the Sooners are ranked #4 in the nation and will certainly be a favorite in this match-up but the main thing to look at is Sooner's quarterback Trevor Knight is now a sophomore rather than a freshman like he was in last year's matchup. Knight has grown as a player and got much better since then. He will certainly play  very well tonight and put up some points. Oklahoma will be without their top rusher Keith Ford due to a ankle injury but their two and third options Perine and Ross will certainly fill in in a big way and I believe they will have their way with West Virginia and I'd be willing to say they get at least 150 yards rushing on the game. Oklahoma certainly has a much improved defense that is considered one of the nations best. If Oklahoma can get their offense going quickly and have their defense create some turnovers and they will keep Morganstown silent and they will have their way with West Virginia.

6:01 PM EST: In today's match-up we have the #4 ranked Oklahoma Sooners - the unranked West Virginia Mountaineers. This match-up was a very good last season as Oklahoma knocked off West Virginia in Oklahoma by a score of 16-7. There's many different factors in this match-up though first this game is in West Virginia rather than Norman. Some factors that will work in West Virginia's favor is they have Clint Trickett a 6'2 senior at quarterback rather than Paul Milliard. Trickett is a transfer from Florida State who served as a back-up behind heisman winner Jameis Winston. In Trickett's first three showings he's looked very well as he's lead the Mountaineers to a 2-1 record so far. He came up short on opening weekend - #2 Alabama but certainly tested them. He then blew out Towson at home 54-0 and won a shootout in Maryland last week 40-37. We certainly believe Trickett will show up and play big today as long as he stays focused. West Virginia has shown they have the ability to play with the nations best and today is a perfect opportunity to make a statement to the country. West Virginia will look to keep a slow tempo and not allow Oklahoma to get their juggernaut of a offense to get going.
