The Wisconsin Badgers had their way with Bowling Green on Saturday and they did not need to throw much to decimate the Falcons. Wisconsin ran for a school and Big Ten record 644 yards on their way to a 68-17 victory. Melvin Gordon, Tanner McEvoy, and Corey Clement all finished with over 100 yards rushing. Even Dare Ogunbowale had 94 yards rushing with mop up action. Gordon had 5 rushing touchdowns in the game.

Wisconsin got great field position early in the game with Kenzel Doe returning Joe Davidson's punt 38 yards to the Bowling Green 24 yard line. Tanner McEvoy ran for a 24 yard touchdown two plays later and Wisconsin led 7-0.

It was not all rainbows and butterflies for Wisconsin early on. Melvin Gordon fumbled on Wisconsin's second possession, which turned into a 35 yard run by Fred Coppet to tie the game at 7 apiece. Gordon atoned for his mistake on the next drive by getting into the end zone from two yards out to make it a 14-7 Badgers lead.

Wisconsin was still sloppy at the end of the quarter. Following Tyler Tate's 28 yard field goal to make it 14-10, Tanner McEvoy fumbled at Bowling Green's 28 yard line to prevent Wisconsin from extending their lead further for the time being.

After another stellar punt return by Doe for 40 yards, McEvoy threw a 34 yard touchdown to Sam Arneson to make it 21-10. Bowling Green had a chance to close the gap again, but James Knapke's pass was intercepted at the goal line by Lubern Figaro. Three plays later, Melvin Gordon ran for his second touchdown of the game, this one from 50 yards out, but Rafael Gaglianone miss the extra point.

Another turnover by Knapke turned into another Melvin Gordon touchdown run. Gordon's third of the game was from 3 yards out to take a 34-10 lead.

McEvoy threw his only interception of the game late in the second quarter, but Bowling Green could do no damage. Wisconsin's final possession of the first half led to Gordon's fourth touchdown with a 21 yard run. Wisconsin took a 41-10 lead into halftime.

Gordon added his fifth and final rushing touchdown on the second play of the third quarter. He ran through and then past defenders on his way to a 69 yard touchdown run.

Corey Clement ran two more touchdowns in during the third quarter. The first was from 13 yards out and the latter was a one yard score to make it a 62-10 game by the end of the third quarter.

Andre Given's 60 yard touchdown run for Bowling Green was bookended by Gaglianone's 28 and 43 yard field goals to reach the final score of 68-17.

James Knapke threw for 163 yards and an interception on 13 of 28 passing. Andre Given ran for 67 yards and a touchdown on 5 carries.

Tanner McEvoy finished with 9 of 16 passing for 112 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Sam Arneson was the leading receiver with 3 catches for 63 yards and a touchdown.

The mind-blowing stats come from the Badgers' run game. Melvin Gordon led the way with 13 carries for 253 yards and 5 touchdowns with a 19.5 yards-per-carry average! McEvoy ran for 158 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries (14.4 YPC). Corey Clement got in the act with 16 carries for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns (6.9 YPC). Even seldom used Dare Ogunbowale ran for 94 yards on 14 carries for an average of 6.7 yards-per-carry. The Badgers as a team ran for 644 yards on 60 carries for an astounding 10.7 yards-per-carry. They scored 8 of the 9 touchdowns via the ground game.

McEvoy will need to cut down on the turnovers. He fumbled twice and lost one, but also threw an interception. Gordon also lost a fumble, the first of his career. The Badgers finished with a school-record 756 yards of total offense despite the three turnovers.

Bowling Green (2-2) will open their MAC slate next week on the road against Massachusetts. Wisconsin (2-1) plays their final non-conference game against South Florida (2-2, 1-0) next week in Madison.
