Jameis Winston, the fire-throwing controversial Heisman Trophy winner, was electric in a ho-hum game for the Seminoles against Syracuse in Central New York. Winston and his receiving crew of Rashad Greene and TE Nick O'Leary silenced the Carrier Dome today, the same afternoon where the only other undefeated ACC team Georgia Tech lost in a thriller to the Duke Blue Devils.

Winston, who is being investigated in a sexual assult case, went 30-36 for 317 yards. 7 players got involved in the receiving business for FSU, with WR Rashad Greene leading them all with 107 yards on 6 grabs.

The Noles' defense had a few poor moments against Syracuse. The Orange's impressive receiving corp, led by Steve Ishmael and Jarrod West, had some shining moments, but the poor QB play by AJ Long and Austin Wilson doomed the Yankees of the ACC. Jalen Ramsey, Tyler Hunter, and Nate Andrews all got interceptions today from some ill-advised throws by the duo.

Today was a battle between two great ACC running backs in Dalvin Cook and Prince Tyson-Gulley for FSU and Syracuse, respectively. Cook won the day though with 122 yards and a TD, compared to Tyson-Gulley's 80 yards.

Admittedly, the game could have been much closer had Syracuse been a bit more efficient in the red zone. The Cuse had 4 drives that ended up in the red zone but ended up either with a turnover or a field goal. Had those four been converted into touchdowns, this would have been a far different game.

The Orange now head to Winston-Salem to take on Wake Forest in a matchup of the worst teams in the ACC. Florida State gets prepared for their toughest game of the year so far against the undefeated Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
