This Notre Dame and Florida State matchup will be a thriller. There is no doubt as to why it will be a late night primetime game with College GameDay to be there hosting. This is a matchup of the unbeaten top five teams with Notre Dame ranked fifth and Florida State ranked second.

This game will feature two dual threat quarterbacks in Everett Golson and Jameis Winston. Winston has not lost a game at all and Golson has one loss in his career, which was the 2012 Championship versus Alabama. Both are in the race for the Heisman Trophy with Jameis winning it last year This game also has the chance to like the 1993 thriller between these two teams.

The 1993 Notre Dame and Florida State matchup featured two unbeaten teams as well. Notre Dame was ranked number two and Florida State number one. It was a Bobby Bowden versus Lou Holtz as the two head coaches. The game was played in South Bend, Indiana and just like Saturday, it had primetime coverage. It was College GameDay's first trip to South Bend with Notre Dame being the underdog. This matchup was noted as one of the "Games Of The Century" and it could be argued that it lived up to the billing. In the end, the Irish would go on to defeat FSU by the score of 31 to 24. The Irish are hoping that is the case again on Saturday.

These two teams last faced off at the Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando, Florida after 2011 season. Florida State was ranked sixth while Notre Dame was unranked with Tommy Rees and EJ Manuel were the two quarterbacks. EJ Manuel and the Seminoles were able to hold off Tommy Rees and the Irish by a score of 18 to 14. Michael Floyd of Notre Dame, dropped what could have been the winning touchdown.

Three keys to an Irish upset are Notre Dame are familiar and they are used to being the underdog. Overall, they have done very well in that role. At the beginning of the 2014 season, Notre Dame was not even supposed to be undefeated due to the tough schedule. They are undefeated and although sometimes they have been sloppy, they have proven good enough to still win.

Another key is Everett Golson. When he plays like a Heisman candidate the Irish do much better. He is the playmaker. If he turns the ball over and misses his throws, the Irish will be in for a very long night. Ben Koyack is this author's key player other than Golson. Koyack has come up big for them this season including the winning catch against Stanford. They need to get him in the game as he has one of the best set of hands on the team. They are going to have to be able to run the ball too and do it effectively. Cam McDaniel will probably get the most carries at running back and he is a grinder in the backfield.

The final key is the defense. They will be without Austin Collinsworth for a few weeks, however, he really has not played much so that will not be a big factor. The defense needs to shut down the FSU receivers and the Irish have done a good job of doing that in their first six game this year. Jaylon Smith is key in this game as is linebacker Joe Schmidt. When they make big plays the Irish are in good shape.

The first of three keys for an FSU victory is making Everett Golson turn the ball over. If they can contain Golson and force him to make touch throws, we will be looking at a FSU win. Notre Dame will be in big trouble if Golson turns the ball over.

The next key is for FSU is the field goal kicker. FSU's kicker is Roberto Aguayo and he is one of the best in the nation. This season he has only missed one kick, which is extremely impressive.

Finally, if FSU can stop the run, then Golson will be forced to do everything. Notre Dame has a rotation of good running backs, but if the Seminoles shut them down, the Irish will be one dimensional.

This game should come down to the fourth quarter, but a shutout should not be expected. Expect some scoring, possibly even a medium scoring game similar to that 1993 matchup. It would not be surprising if a single play or two determined which team wins on Saturday night. Either way, it is going to be a sensational game and hopefully for Irish fans, this is not like the 2012 National Championship where Notre Dame got crushed. With Notre Dame being the underdog by 10 points, do not count them out. They just might pull the upset on Saturday night.
