Kansas Jayhawks - Oklahoma Sooners NCAA Football Live Score and Result

10:35 AM EST: Look for the three-headed monster at running back to wear down Kansas' rush defense. The likes of Keith Ford, Samaje Perine, and Alex Ross could prove to be too much for the Jayhawks. Perine leads the conference in rushing as a freshman with 824 yards and 13 touchdowns. Biletnikoff semifinalist Sterling Shepard is questionable for Saturday's game. If he cannot play, players like Durron Neal and Michiah Quick will need to step up.

10:32 AM EST: For the Sooners, Cody Thomas will make his second straight start on Saturday in place of Knight. Thomas threw for 133 yards and a touchdown last week, but he also threw three interceptions. He added another touchdown and 103 yards on eight carries.

10:29 AM EST: Other players to look for the Jayhawks include running back Corey Avery. Avery has rushed for 565 yards and five touchdowns this season. Some wide receivers include Jimmy Mundine and Nigel King, who each have over 500 yards receiving.

10:25 AM EST: It's been a two quarterback show this season for the Jayhawks. Montell Cozart was the starter at the beginning of the season, throwing for five touchdowns and seven interceptions. Since then Michael Cummings has taken over, and has had some really good moments since becoming the starter. He has thrown seven touchdowns and rushed for four.

10:20 AM EST: It's time to talk about the individual players on each team.

Live NCAA Football Score and Result Kansas Jayhawks - Oklahoma Sooners

10:19 AM EST: Oklahoma's defense has been a disappointment, though. The team is full of talent, especially on the front seven, but they have struggled this season in conference play. They will be without Geneo Grissom this week due to injury. The secondary has not been good lately, with Oklahoma last in the conference in pass defense at 327 yards per game. Some of that is due to not getting pressure on the quarterback.

10:14 AM EST: Oklahoma's offense has been wildly inconsistent this season, and it has hurt them in their three losses. They are still averaging over 30 points and 474 yards, but they have been unable to cut out the mistakes. The passing game just has not been great so far with Trevor Knight this season, and Cody Thomas threw three interceptions against Texas Tech. The Sooners are ninth in the conference in passing, just ahead of Oklahoma State, with 214.9 yards per game. The rushing attack has been the bright spot for OU this season.

10:11 AM EST: It might not show on the scoreboard, but the Kansas defense has actually made some plays this season. They are giving up over 30 points per game, but they rank in the top five in both pass defense and rush defense. They have forced 13 turnovers this season, trailing only TCU in the conference, who has forced 18 turnovers. They lead the conference in interceptions with seven, which could be huge going against a team who has thrown 12 interceptions this season. That is a three-way tie for first place with Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.

10:05 AM EST: 2014 has been a struggle for the Jayhawks on offense, ranking at or near the bottom in every statistical category. Kansas ranks last in the conference in scoring offense at 19 points per game, and they also rank last rushing with 111 yards per game. They are a little better in the passing game, ranking seventh in the conference at 241.4 yards per game.

10:01 AM EST: Let's go more in depth on how these two teams have played on the field in 2014.

Live Kansas Jayhawks - Oklahoma Sooners Score

9:58 AM EST: Kansas did give Oklahoma some trouble in 2013 when they jumped out to a quick two possession lead over the Sooners, but couldn't hold on and lost 34-19. The Jayhawks last defeated the Sooners in 1997, by a score of 20-17, when Terry Allen was head of the program.

9:53 AM EST: Sooners head coach Bob Stoops has had tremendous success over Kansas in his tenure at Oklahoma. Stoops comes into this game with a 9-0 record over the Jayhawks. His teams have outscored their opponent 345-126, an average score of 38.3-14.

9:50 AM EST: Kansas won the first eight games of the series, which began back in 1903, but since 1910, Oklahoma is 71-19-6 in the series.

9:45 AM EST: Let's get to how these teams have stacked up on the field over the years.

Live Score and Result of Kansas Jayhawks - Oklahoma Sooners NCAA Football

9:43 AM EST: Oklahoma, has been one of the most, if not the most, disappointing teams in the country this year with a 7-3 record and 4-3 in the Big 12 play.

9:39 AM EST: Despite the poor record, Kansas has played better of late under interim coach Clint Bowen. Bowen has been in charge of the program for seven weeks after replacing Charlie Weis. They almost upset TCU last week, losing by just four points.

9:34 AM EST: This is an interesting game between two programs at opposite ends of the spectrum. Kansas has struggled this season, especially on offense, coming into this game with an overall record of 3-7, and 1-6 in the Big 12.

9:30 AM EST: Hello and welcome to VAVEL USA's live coverage of the NCAA football game between the Kansas Jayhawks and the Oklahoma Sooners, where kickoff has been pushed back from 12:00pm EST to 1:30pm EST due to lightning in Oklahoma.
