Just in a matter of days after their games ended, Mark Snyder and Ellis Johnson were fired from their respective schools. Two former head coaches and one possibly soon to be seem to fit these certain teams. Here they are:

Will Muschamp: Possibly the leading candidate for Auburn. The now former Florida head coach was always defensive minded, which was pretty much why the Florida offense was probably so horrible. Even offensive coordinator Kurt Roper couldn't cook anything up unless Muschamp may have handcuffed him in some way. But anyway that's past tense now. Muschamp was a safety at Georgia. He went to graduate school at Auburn where he worked under Wayne Hall and Bill Oliver. He joined Nick Saban as LSU as linebackers coach in 2001, then DC the following year. In 2003, LSU won the BCS title where they led the nation in scoring defense (11.0 per game) and total defense (252.0 yards per game). He left with Saban to join the Miami Dolphins where his defense ranked 15th in the NFL. Muschamp returned to Auburn where his defense finished in the top 10 in 4 defensive categories in his two years there. He left for Texas and was given head coach in waiting under Mack Brown. In his 2 years he led the Big XII in rushing defense and scoring defense. Best fit: Auburn

Bo Pelini: After 7 years at Nebraska, Pelini was fired after a 9-3 season even after finishing tied 2nd in the Big Ten West. Just to get my rant out of the way, he got a bad rap just because 9-3 wasn't good enough. Now we're done. Pelini started out his major coaching career with the San Francisco 49ers under George Seifert in 1994. There he was quickly moved to defensive backs coach where he won the Super Bowl against the San Diego Chargers in 1995. He also served as the linebackers coach with the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers from 1997 to 2002. He then moved on to his first stint at Nebraska as defensive coordinator in 2003 where his defense ranked 11th in the nation. That same year after a 9-3 record (deja vu), Frank Solich was fired and was interim head coach. While Bill Callahan was hired as Nebraska head coach the following year, he moved on to Oklahoma as co-defensive coordinator where helped pushed the rushing defense to 6th in the nation and 11th in scoring defense. It was afterwards he was hired by Les Miles at LSU to coach the defense where in his last year in 2007, they beat Ohio State in the BCS title game. Best fit geographically: Texas A&M

Brady Hoke: Yes we know he hasn't been fired yet, but things have been pointing that way since Michigan AD David Brandon resigned. We still have the right to suggest who should go where. Again rant over. Hoke on the other hand has the longest college sheet among the first two. In 1983, he began his college coaching career at Grand Valley State. From 1984 to 1986, he was Western Michigan's defensive line coach under Jack Harbaugh. He then moved on to Toledo as linebackers coach from 1987 to 1989. Hoke then moved on to Oregon State to become defensive line from 1989 to 1994. He made his first trip to Michigan as defensive end coach in 1995 then up to defensive line two years later. In 2002, he was added the title of associate head coach by Lloyd Carr. In 2003, he returned to his alma mater Ball State to become their head coach. In his 6 years there, he only had 2 winning seasons which were the last two he was there. Hoke had a 7-6 record in 2007 losing the International Bowl, and went 12-0 the next year but did not coach in winning the GMAC Bowl. It was then he became head coach at San Diego State. In his 2 years there, he coached the Aztecs to a 9-4 record and win in the 2010 Poinsettia Bowl before taking over at Michigan. He was noted by his brother Jon Hoke that he is a good recruiter. So best fit recruiting wise: Texas A&M.

The possibilities are endless here. Muschamp is the clear choice for Auburn no doubt. Pelini can really turn any defense around no matter how bad. Hoke on the other hand is a defensive minded coach and a recruiter just like Ed Orgeron. Perhaps Orgeron might come back out of hiding? Well anyway, it could still be anyone's guess who will go where. This guessing seems to be fun.
