University of Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota added another award to his shelf on Saturday, as he won the Heisman Memorial Trophy becoming the first Oregon Duck to ever win the award.

Mariota, a redshirt junior decided last season to return for his junior season even though he was a possible first overall pick in the NFL Draft. The decision to return for another season which has hurt some QB's draft stock has done the complete opposite for Mariota, who has raised his draft stock astronomically.

His junior season stats consiting of a 68.3% completition percentage for 3,773 yards, 38 touchdowns , two interceptions, and a QB rating of 186.1. Not to mention his rushing stats of 669 yards on 117 attempts and 14 touchdowns. He also brought down a 26-yard receiving touchdown during the season as well.

In the last week, Mariota has swept all the major awards for a college quarterback brining home the,  Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, the Davey O'Brien Award, the Walter Camp Award, and the Maxwell Award, now he can add the Heisman Trophey to that list.

Over the course of his three seasons starting at Oregon, Mariota has claimed four conference records and seven school records. This season, the future top five draft pick set records for total career touchdowns (conference), single season total touchdowns (conference), single season total offsense (school), single season passing yards (school), and single season passing touchdowns (school).

With that imrpessive list of records, it's easy to see why the 21-year old brought home the Heisman trophey with easy claiming ____ of the total _____ points.

Now that all award ceremonies are out of the way, it's time for Mariota and his second ranked Oregon Ducks to turn their sights to fourth ranked and undefeated Florida State, whom they take on New Years Day in the Rose Bowl in the ingagural CFB Playoffs.
