After double-digit wins at home against 3rd ranked Mississippi and on the road versus Missouri, the Florida Gators look as though they are playing their best football at the most important time, considering a primetime matchup in Baton Rouge against 6th ranked LSU looms.

Unfortunately for head coach Jim McElwain, the upcoming task has become much more challenging because star quarterback Will Grier has been suspended for the remainder of the season in addition to the first six games of next season due to a positive test for performance enhancing drugs.

Grier, who red-shirted last year after being a U.S. Army All-American Bowl selection (had 4,989 yards and 77 touchdowns during his senior year of high school), has been phenomenal this season as he has soared the Gators to number eight in the AP rankings by throwing for 1,204 passing yards and 10 touchdowns (65.4% completion percentage).

In his last game, Saturday at Missouri, the 20-year old threw for 208 passing yards to become the first Florida quarterback to pass for 200 plus yards in three consecutive games since former Heisman Trophy winner and two-time BCS National Champion Tim Tebow in 2009.

During a press conference today, the redshirt freshman said, "I, I took an over the counter supplement, that had something in it. And I, I did not check with the medical staff before taking it. I, I really hope that people can learn, learn from this, learn from my mistake. And, I am really, really sorry to, to everyone. Just really sorry."

With Grier out of the picture, sophomore Treon Harris will likely be back behind center when 7:00 PM EST rolls around this Saturday. Harris enters today with 19 completions on 24 attempts for 269 yards and 2 touchdowns. Last year, he completed a mediocre 49.5% of his passes while throwing for 1,019 yards and 9 touchdowns (4 interceptions).

Following this weekend's showdown, Florida will head west to EverBank Field in Jacksonville to face the Georgia Bulldogs before hosting Vanderbilt and traveling to South Carolina. The Gators finish their 2015 season with Florida Atlantic and 11th ranked Florida State at "The Swamp."

6-0 Florida currently holds a one and a half game lead in the SEC East division over the Kentucky Wildcats, who they defeated 13-9 in Lexington.
