The Green Bay Packers are one of the most iconic sports franchises to ever exist, no question about it. Aside from their iconic history, the team also produced three incredibly talented quarterbacks, Bart Starr, Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. While Starr is long retired and Rodgers prepares for the 2014 season, it is Favre who is making all the headlines. Favre stated that he will not mind it if people boo him on his return, he just want’s to come back to Green Bay. Regardless of what people think, Favre is coming back to Green Bay to have his number retired, so show him the respect he deserves Packer fans.

Packer fans are still bitter about him leaving the team, and still are not ready for his return to Lambeau Field. The reasoning behind the love/hate relationship is understandable, but it honestly is time to let it go Green Bay. No, that was not a Frozen reference, but now that song is probably stuck in your head...you are welcome.

Anytime a player leaves his long-time team and goes to a hated rival, it starts a fire inside fans, regardless of who the player is, just ask Lebron James. Favre and James are different but very similar. No, Favre did not win a championship with the New York Jets or Minnesota Vikings, all-though he came close with Minnesota. James is now back in Cleveland and is welcomed with open arms, why can’t Favre be welcomed the same way? The situations may be different, but there are enough similarities for fans to understand the full situation.

Favre is a Green Bay legend, no, a NFL legend. His records and game-winning drives will always be remembered by fans of every team. Even people who don’t follow the NFL, still know the name Brett Favre. He will return to Lambeau Field and be given a proper send-off.

What are some of your favorite Favre memories? Do you think Packer fans need to get over themselves and welcome him back or do they need more time?
