The Atlanta Falcons have announced that terms have been met on a 4-year contract extension with WR Roddy White.

White has been a four-time Pro Bowler with Atlanta and owns many club records for receiving. This includes career receiving yards (9,436), career game with 10 or more receptions (11), career 100 yard receiving games (37), and career receptions (685).

Roddy White has also been the favorite target for QB Matt Ryan. Since 2008, when Ryan first entered the NFL, 543 receptions and over 7,000 yards where accumulated between the two which ranks fourth in the NFL during that span of time. White also has dragged in 46 touchdown passes in the six year span which is tied for fourth most in the League.

A dominant wide receiver, White has many times surpassed the 1,000 yard mark on the season and in 2012 he become sixth player in NFL history to have six consecutive seasons of accomplishing the milestone. In 2010, Roddy White set the franchise record in both single-season receptions (115) and single-season receiving yards (1,389). His receptions for that year led the league and he finished second only behind Brandon Lloyd (1,448).

This contract extension almost guarantees Roddy White stays a Falcon for his entire career. At 32 years old, this contract will bring him to age 36 which is usually around the retiring age for wide receivers in the NFL.

After a rough season in 2013, where White was battling injuries predominantly throughout the year, he will look to rebound in 2014. History and statistics show that last season was primarily a fluke for White and that his uncanny talent as a wide receiver will continue to wreak havoc on opposing secondaries.
