The Chicago Bears did not take long in filling their vacant roster spot. The team announced Tuesday that they signed wide receiver Dale Moss to a one-year contract.

This move comes after a series of roster moves that the Bears made last weekend, which left them with an open slot. Since then, the Bears have been practicing with 89 players.

Moss spent some brief time with the Bears in 2012 as a member of the practice squad. He was also with the team during minicamps and OTAs in 2013. Moss, who played his college ball at South Dakota State, has also worn the jerseys of the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers.

The Packers signed him as an undrafted costless agent in 2012. The Bears now have 11 wide outs on the roster. Moss joins Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, Marquess Wilson, Eric Weems, Josh Morgan, Chris Williams, Terrence Toliver, Josh Bellamy, Armanti Edwards, and Micheal Spurlock.

Aside from Marshall and Jeffery, the rest of the depth chart is still being sorted out. Wilson and Morgan are fighting for the ever-important third receiver spot, while Weems and Williams have been battling to be the team's kick return man.

Toliver has been hampered with a toe injury as of late and has not practiced as a result. How Moss fits into the grand scheme of things remains to be seen, but he is definitely a long shot to make the roster.

The Bears get back on the practice field Wednesday as they prepare for their fast approaching first preseason game, which will be on August 8th against Philadelphia.
