The New England Patriots are always expected to have a good season, to make a deep playoff run and the goal is to win a Super Bowl every season.  These are goals every NFL teams strives for and the Patriots have managed to deliver great seasons consistently.  After falling just short of making it back to the big game, the New England Patriots made a big splash in the off-season.

The Patriots re-signed offensive target Julian Edelman in the off-season, giving Tom Brady his favorite target back.  Along with Edelman, the Patriots also signed former Carolina Panther Brandon LaFell who at 6'2 gives Brady a large deep-threat.  Along with drafting Dominic Easley, the Pats drafted quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and Wide Receiver Jeremy Gallon.  Although only rookies, Easley and Gallon could make an impact on this team.

Perhaps the biggest splash in the NFL off-season was made by the Patriots when they signed Darrelle Revis.  Revis provides a punch to the Pats secondary that was sorely lacking, and for the first time since Ty Law the Patriots have a dangerous corner.  Along with Revis former Seattle Seahawk Brandon Browner was signed, providing excellent coverage opposite Revis.

The Buffalo Bills and returning second year quarterback E.J. Manuel are slowly becoming a team to start watching.  The New York Jets added plenty this off-season, including quarterback Michael Vick to compete with second year man Geno Smith. The Miami Dolphins made some adjustments and even added Hall of Famer Dan Marino to their front office.  These teams competing with the Patriots are young, inexperienced and while they can provide solid competition for New England, Bill Belichick has always been on another level.

There's no question the New England Patriots still rule the AFC East.  It would be no surprise to see the Pats with another division title under their belts by the end of the regular season.
