The Seattle Seahawks and head coach Pete Carroll have been fined collectively more than $300,000 along with losing two days of minicamp in 2015 as punishment for violations in June.

The NFL fined Carroll and its reigning Super Bowl champions because the team violated the “no-contact rules that govern NFL teams offseason practices,” according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen. The Seahawks were said to have used "excessive levels of on-field contact."

Carroll's fine was at least $100,000 and the Seahawks penalty came to over $200,000.

The collective bargaining agreement bans physical contact between players during the offseason. In 2012, The Seahawks were fined an undisclosed amount by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for a similar violation. The NFL had listed the Seahawks as repeat offenders. The latest violation occurred on June 18.

If the Seahawks continue to win big, the organization likely will mind paying the fine. Although Carroll was fined a hefty price, it would be hard to get him to say it is not worth it.

The Seahawks have declined immediate comment.
