In what has been the worst two week media cycle for the NFL in years, from the accusations of domestic abuse to child abuse to the NFL knowing and doing nothing about it, a weekend of fantasy football provided a respite for NFL fans. This writer was much better this week than last, and went 2-1 this past weekend.

Although yours truly lost badly in the league in one primary league, the two other wins were enough to elevate this humble writer's spirit. All three fantasy teams enjoyed good performances last weekend. Even in the loss, they picked up a lot of points and were only beaten by a team given a Yahoo! draft grade of A+. Meanwhile, in the other two leagues Randall Cobb put in a massive performance. While Cobb only had five catches, he caught two touchdown passes. In one league, that was 12 points. In another, 17. You are the man, Randall Cobb. You should just keep on catching that ball. It doesn't matter if you only have three catches. Just make them all touchdowns and we're set.

It is a requirement to give a massive shout-out to Chandler Jones. The New England Patriots defensive lineman got 25 points. A defensive lineman got 25 points. While this was in the league where individual defensive players were drafted, he is a defensive lineman. Who got me 25 points, which is not even heard of in leagues that follow that format. Thank you Mr. Jones.

Next up it is time to give thanks for the fantastic Julian Edelman. The Patriots man has been superb this year, and last week had 91 receiving yards and caught a touchdown. This next week, he is projected to get 21 points. Thanks man.

Come on, Eddie Lacy. What has been up with you this year? After two games, Lacy has yet to have more than 6.5 points in a game. Eddie, it's clear that the Packers offensive line is a major issue. And as a Packers fan, I feel okay saying those things. Because for the first two games, that line has been lived up to those expectations. But really Eddie? Can you please get more than 6.5 points?? Just because yours truly couldn't run for squat in the NFL doesn't mean you shouldn't be getting points! Sure, if this writer were playing, expect about 20 carries, 18.5 fumbles, and -20 yards rushing. And yes, that stat line is impossible. But that doesn't mean there can't be an expectation for you to be All-Pro every week simply because you're on this fantasy team!

This upcoming week, it seems certain yours truly will lose once again in the primary league. That league the opposition has Matt Ryan. Coming into the week, this writer wasn't too nervous about playing him. But then he goes out and gets more than 30 points. Good God fantasy is aggravating.

In other leagues, look out because the teams are expected to destroy the opposition and the projected points totals have expect the teams to win by more than 30 points in each league. Nothing quite like when an auto draft comes off right. It will be fun to see how the week pans out. See you back here next week!
