The New York Giants season continues to get worse. The Giants will have to go into Sunday's game against the Houston Texans without their starting middle linebacker Jon Beason. Beason aggravated a foot injury that he suffered he suffered in June last week against the Arizona Cardinals.

Beason was examined Friday in Charlotte North Carolina by foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson. Beason first met with Dr. Anderson back when he originally injured his foot in June. After the examination Beason called the Giants and gave them the bad news.

"Our medical people, after listening to the conversation, just figured that this wouldn't be a week to put him out there," said coach Tom Coughlin.

The question that the Giants will now have to face is how long will Beason be off the field. Tom Coughlin would not commit to when he thinks Beason will be back on the field. The good news for the Giants is that Beason is known for pushing himself to get back on the field as soon as possible. Beason will not have as much time to recover because the Giants will play Thursday night against the Redskins.

The Giants defense is going to take a major hit as Beason is a big factor. After Beason suffered his injury in June, he decided to take a rest instead of undergoing surgery. One of the top options to replace Beason Sunday is Jameel McClain.

Beason is not the only Giant that will not be competing Sunday. Rookie wide receiver Odell Becham Jr has still yet to practice with team due to a hamstring injury. Another Giants rookie that will not compete is rookie linebacker Devin Kennard. Punter Steve Weatherford is questionable due to a left ankle injury.
