In their Week 2 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, the Steelers showed how bad their offense can be. In their Week 2 matchup against the Carolina Panthers, the Steelers showed how good their offense can be. Repetitive, but true. The past two weeks, we have seen two very different Pittsburgh Steelers' offenses.

The key to success against the Panthers was running the football. In the first two games of the season, "backup" (air quotes because he would start on several teams) running back LeGarrette Blount had only seven total carries. In Week 3 alone, Blount had 10 rushes for 118 yards and a touchdown. After two poorly coached games, Mike Tomlin and Todd Haley have finally realized what they have in Blount.

It also helps having a running back as consistent as Le'Veon Bell. He continued his great year against the Panthers with 21 carries for 147 yards (81 of which came on one carry). With LeSean McCoy struggling, Adrian Peterson inactive, and Jamaal Charles unhealthy, Bell is proving he is one of the top backs. Several different analysts have commented on his patience, how good he is at waiting for his blocks to develop. Bell's play going forward will have a huge impact on the Steelers' success.

To conclude, if the Steelers run the ball as well as they did in Week 3 consistently, look out for this team. Without their running the ball, they won't have much of an offense, with Antonio Brown being their only major receiving threat. But, if Bell, Blount, and the offensive line play this well down the road, the Steelers have potential to be a very dangerous team.
